With the royal wedding ten days away, Philip Treacy is busy. “People came to see me as soon as the invites went out,” says the Irish-born milliner, who has designed headpieces for Alexander McQueen and Karl Lagerfeld’s Chanel shows and was famously championed by Isabella Blow. “Most will have three or four fittings because, of course, it has to be right; something like a billion people will see them on the day.”

Royal weddings are “a real hat moment,” according to Treacy, and he knows a thing or two about them. He won’t be attending the Wills/Kate nuptials on the 29th, but, he says, “my hats will be! I did go to the last royal wedding—Charles and Camilla’s, in 2005—and it was the most interesting day of my life. I watched Princess Diana’s wedding as a boy, so to see the future Queen of England coming round the corner towards me in one of my hats was just amazing.” He won’t say who’s wearing his creations this time around—though the clients coming to him are accessorizing Chanel Couture, Valentino Couture, and Gaultier Couture, for a start. “I’m designing hats for queens, princesses, and celebrities; you definitely won’t miss them on the big day.”

Even though he has designed hats for everyone from Lady Gaga to Sarah Jessica Parker and Grace Jones, Treacy knows that royals are among his most loyal customers. “I design for royalty throughout the world because royals actually wear hats,” he explains. “They are the true hat-wearers of the twenty-first century, the ultimate influencers who keep the millinery business going. And England is the home of hats because of the customers here. I design for some very conservative women who think that my hats are normal. Many, like the Duchess of Devonshire, would never wear unusual clothes but when it comes to hats, they see what I make simply as something ’smart.’ “

Hats, he says, are “the ultimate twenty-first-century personal expression.” (He’s also recently called them “a cheaper form of cosmetic surgery.”) “Every hat I make is particular to every customer, to the way they look, their personality, so you really get to know that person well. They are giving you their heads and I have to give them something they will be comfortable with, even if I push things a little.” Push or not, the world is banging at his door. “One day it will be Pamela Anderson, the next a queen,” Treacy says of his London atelier. “My assistant says it’s like stepping into Alice in Wonderland.” The Mad Hatter jokes make themselves.

Between shooting movies, doing guest-spots on ‘Glee’ and writing a cookbook, it’s no surprise the multi-tasking Gwyneth Paltrow gets a little stressed sometimes. In her latest GOOP newsletter, the Academy Award-winning actress reveals how she manages stress.

“I have never been very good at handling stress (though a bit of meditation helps), and I wanted some very practical ways of reducing it that I could use during the course of my day,” Paltrow wrote.

The 38-year-old actress continued: “I got some good answers that don’t require a 90 minute yoga class, or flying to a hippie style silent retreat (I’ve actually done one-don’t ask), just simple things that we all have access to. Here they are!” Paltrow then shared advice from Dr. Oz Garcia, Oliver Bros and Monica Berg.

Paltrow’s been a busy lady lately–she’s popped up twice on the ‘Glee’ tour, was named the new face of Coach and just released a new cookbook.

Who’s Out at ‘Housewives’ Alex McCord Responds to New Report

Holy catfight! The ‘Real Housewives of New York’ reunion special was taped last Wednesday at Capital in NYC and it was full of tears, laughter and betrayal but nothing was as interesting as one Real Housewife talking about the show in the past tense. “Cindy [Barshop] barely spoke at the taping,” a cast member tells me, “And when she did talk about her time on the show it was in the past tense. She is definitely not coming back.”

Also buzzing around today is a new report by HollywoodLife that in addition to Cindy, original housewife Alex McCord will also not be around for a fifth season, but in an exclusive statement to PopEater, Alex rebuffs such claims.

“If I had a dollar every time an ‘inside source,’ i.e. a cast member, leaked a ‘story’ that I was out of RHONY, I’d be a multi-millionairess!” Alex wrote to me.
A spokesperson for Bravo released a statement, telling me “No decisions have been made regarding next season and everything at this point is rumor.”

The tradition of the ‘Real Housewives’ coming together at the end of each season to tape a reunion show has delivered HUGE ratings for Bravo. So much so that these tapings are often edited into at least two hours of TV and have recently even provided footage for a third.

“They started taping at 9:00 a.m. and didn’t finish until well past 7,” an insider tells me. “The first few hours where everyone is on message is always thrown away and replaced by the more juicy stuff that occurs later in the day when everyone’s getting tired and letting down their guard. This year Ramona and Jill go at it.”

After the taping, Ramona tweeted that it had been a wild day and that she “survived the reunion.” The next day Alex McCord agreed, tweeting, “Intense day of filming yesterday for Real Housewives of New York.” However, Jill Zarin, surprisingly seemed to have a great time, sharing, “OMG what a day,” late Wednesday night.

Two Housewives that were noticeably silent were Sonja Morgan, who is battling an ugly bankruptcy case, and the newest housewife member Cindy Barshop.

“Sonja’s struggles with her divorce and financial situation are just too delicious for Bravo to not invite her back,” one insider tells me. “But it looks like Cindy already knows her Real Housewife days are over.”

“Even if you have the most sober outfit, an amazing pair of shoes and accessories will really perk things up,” Charlotte Dellal tells Style.com at the British Institute of Architects, where she presented her Spring ‘12 Charlotte Olympia collection. The Miami Art Deco setting provided a perfect background for the collection as models traipsed around wearing shoes embellished with shells, pearls, and appliquéd leaves.

But it wasn’t just the shoes the crowd, which included Natalie Massenet, Anna Dello Russo, and model Portia Freeman (the face of the campaign), was fixated on—it was the clothes, too. Trying to identify the designer, they suggested they might be Issa or Temperley, but in fact, the dresses and swimsuits were by Charlotte herself. “I knew what I wanted to go with the shoes, so I thought I would just do the clothes myself and got a seamstress to help me realize my vision,” she said of her first foray into designing womenswear. “I hope it works.”

On top of finishing the shoe and clothing collection, she had a baby just a few weeks ago. Few would have guessed it. Dellal, with a nipped-in waist and no bags under her eyes, wholesale Miss Sixty jeans, let us in on the secret: “I can’t take the credit—it’s shapewear and a maternity nurse.”
